Key Stage 3 (Years 7 – 9 )

Key Stage 3 (Years 7 – 9 )

The move to the Senior School is exciting. Students are taught a range of subjects by a number of different teachers. This involves moving to specialist areas and being organised for each lesson.

Year 8 is the second year of Key Stage 3. The curriculum in Year 8 continues to offer a broad and balanced education, consolidating the work from Year 7 and providing, as part of Key Stage 3, the essential foundations for the GCSE courses offered later in Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) and beyond.

The Year 9 curriculum offers a broad and balanced education, building on the programme laid down in the junior schools and Year 7 and 8, and is based on the National Curriculum for England.

During Year 9 students will have the opportunity to shape their curriculum for the following two years by choosing some of the subjects they wish to study at IGCSE. Further information about the options process will be given during this year.
