Participation in activities beyond the classroom gives students the opportunity to learn and develop new skills
Student Life at BIS
Our STEAM education extends beyond the classroom to embrace a wide range of extra curricular activities. These include sports, nature trips, arts and crafts and exploratory excursions.
As a STEAM School, we are dedicated to offering our students a wide-range of opportunities to allow each student to develop their skills and pursue their individual interests. To facilitate this, we have both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Extra-curricular activities include both individual pursuits and team-building activities
Our British International School is adapting courses, both during the regular school day and after school, that allow students to learn in their communities.
The aim of these courses is to more fully engage students, by harnessing their natural interest in where and how they live and by using their own community as a source of learning and action.
Community-based learning helps students acquire, practice, and apply subject matter, knowledge and skills.
Teaching, Learning and Innovation at BIS places design and computational thinking, cutting-edge robotics, coding and digital influences at the core of all learning experiences.
We use technology to move beyond the classroom walls and transform education with new e-skills development. We are developing the digital innovators and technology experts of tomorrow.
Our STEAM mission is to promote healthy lifestyles to all our students. We support all-round student development, and achieving in both individual and team-based sports activities teaches students how to work to reach a common goal, dedication, how to lead and camaraderie.
A wide variety of athletic and sporting activities are offered on-campus at BIS taught by specialist teachers
Before and After-school activities play an important role in a student’s school life, as the social and emotional skills they often develop through these activities are linked to their interest in school.
These programmes are not mandatory but we highly encourage students to participate in them as they are areas of learning not strictly developed in the classroom but that add value to individual competency.
We nurture energetic creativity and value the Performing and Creative Arts as a critical learning tool that helps develop well-rounded individuals and encourages skills that are vital for success in later life.
All aspects of the performing arts are highly valued and integrated into the curriculum at BIS. Children are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities to explore and develop their skills in Music, Dance and Drama.
STEAM Experience Programme creates opportunity for students through experiential learning allowing them to gain real-world experience. A STEAM-wide initiative, a first of its kind utilizing its extensive network working with industry leaders in the region and beyond.
We will be campaigning and creating specific partnerships that promote lifelong learning and professional development of students, equipping them with portable and transferable skills for their future
British International Schools
The school’s enrichment programme includes school extra-curricular activities (ECA) that take place during the day or after school on weekly basis. These activities provide opportunities for students to discover their talents and abilities, and to enable students to create and innovate.
