We inspire students to be lifelong learners who contribute positively to a diverse and changing world

STEAM Education Schools

British International Schools are part of the STEAM Education family of international schools. STEAM Education is our parent organization.

At our British International Schools we’re very proud to offer local state curriculum in tandem with international curriculum. This approach gives our students the opportunity to feel connected to their home and enjoy a top-quality international education.

At our STEAM Schools, every student is a Very Important Person; and the quality of every student’s present and future can be greatly enhanced by the quality of his or her education.

We believe that each child can achieve their fullest potential through a continuum of educational provision

BIS is a non-selective school and do not require children to take an entrance test. As a parent you have the right to make an active choice about where your child should learn, whether you apply to a municipal or a free school. Our British International Schools are open for all children.

Applicants who have siblings attending one of our schools have a priority on our queue for that same school, regardless of their location on the queue.

If no sibling priority is applicable, admission is granted on the basis of a student’s placement in the queue, based on the date of the application. The student with the longest time on the queue is offered the first available spot. This applies regardless of where you live.

We are a state regulated school without fees. It does not cost anything to attend our British  School. There are no tuition fees. Funding comes from the “skolpeng” or school subsidy, allocated to schools that are approved by “Skolverket” the Swedish National Agency for Education.

Apply in just three steps:

1.Click Join the Queue.

2.Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1 February the year after they were born).

3.Fill in the form including your details and those of your child so that we can stay in touch and let you know if a place becomes available.

While municipal schools tend to offer places to those who live closest, many free schools use a first-come, first-served system. In this system those who have the earliest queue date are most likely to be offered a place.

British International Schools use this queue-based system. Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1 February the year after they were born)

Why British Academy Schools?

STEAM is our educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!
