We welcome applications to our school all year round from students of all abilities

Welcome to BIS!

Thank you for considering BIS for your children. We are an inclusive non-selective school and welcome applications to our school all year round from students of all abilities.

BIS follows the Swedish national curriculum (LGR) and is divided into two sections. LGRP (LGR Primary years) for preschool class – grade 5 and LGRM (LGR Middle years) for grades 6-9.

Who can apply?
Parents can apply to all grades, from preschool class to grade 9. For preschool class we only accept applications for students turning 6 years old the same year as school start.

Our school is a non-selective schools and does not require children to take an entrance test

As a parent you have the right to make an active choice about where your child should learn, whether you apply to a municipal or a free school. The British International School in Sweden is a non-selective school and does not require children to take an entrance test. Our Schools are open for all children.

Applicants who have siblings attending one of our schools has a priority on our queue for that same school, regardless of their location on the queue.

If no sibling priority is applicable, admission is granted on the basis of a student’s placement in the queue, based on the date of the application. The student with the longest time on the queue is offered the first available spot. This applies regardless of where you live.

Step 1 – Click  join the Queue

Step 2 – Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1st February the year after they were born).

Step 3 – Fill in the form including your details and those of your child so that we can stay in touch and let you know if a place becomes available.

Step 4– After filling out the form you will receive an email confirming the date on which your child was registered in the queue for your school of choice.

While municipal schools tend to offer places to those who live closest, many free schools use a first-come, first-served system. In this system those who have the earliest queue date are most likely to be offered a place.

Our British School uses this queue-based system. Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1 February the year after they were born)

At our British Schools we base the year level placement on the students date of birth as per the academic year. Our Admissions system will try to find the  year group for the applicant,
